Overview

The Canada’s Defence and Security S&T and Landscape map provides a visual summary of Canada’s defence industries, including company locations and clusters, employment, revenue, economic impact and innovation and R&D performance. It provides value by establishing the scale, composition, geographic profile, and strengths of the Canadian defence industries and examining both domestic and international industry, government, and academic partnerships. It also includes links to academic and federal and provincial governmental support programs (such as the Scientific Research and Experimental Development – SRED – and Industrial Research Assistance IRAP – programs), federal research and development investments, research centres and facilities that would be of benefit to firms undertaking innovation in the defence and security sector in Canada.

As DRDC builds a new strategy to transform defence innovation in Canada, a visual map of Canada’s Defence and Security S&T/Innovation Ecosystem, formed a firm foundation to facilitate such strategic discussions, including identifying and creating “clusters” of defence innovators.
